CR for Final Project

                1. How do your products represent social groups or issues?      The products that I have created represent different social groups and issues, I expressed these issues with a short film, a website, a postcard and multiple social media accounts. The short film is about two girls getting followed by a guy. They ran into him at a convenient store and he started asking many questions. He then stalks them to the house and the party they go to later that day. He ends up killing both of them at the party. The other product would be the website. The website includes information and the latest updates of the film. It also includes the social media platforms made for the short film. The postcard includes where and when the film will be shown and includes the social media usernames. All of these products represent social groups because they are for those interested in thrillers and suspenseful films. The products are also for all age groups and ethnicities. Thus, the film represe

Short Film Final Project

We finally finished! Our film is done and its ready to be watched by many. My group and I are very grateful to be apart of this process. Transferring from AS level to A level has been a fun journey and I am glad I had the opportunity. Filming and editing our film taught me what it takes to film a movie, even if the film is only five minutes.                                                                           Final movie Link- https://youtu.be/-cSjHz9FEOk                                                                           Website link -                                       https://theconvenientstore0.wixsite.com/website-1                                                                                           Post card

Production Blog: The end

Image
This my last production Blog. Now that our film is over, our critical reflection is due Monday. Along with another blog where we post the film. The critical reflection is supposed to be 1000 words. There are four questions. Which makes each question about 250 words. I started the reflection a couple weeks ago, at the beginning of this month. I wrote some guidelines, and points about our film that I could possibly write about. I am going to be working on this reflection over the weekend. I also need to upload our video to YouTube. After uploading the video I will need to in-bed the video onto a blog. This blog will include all the links for our social medias and our postcard. My group will help me with this. This was a really important part. If we did this part wrong all of our work will go to waste. I will tell Eva to work on the Youtube account. I will ask Paige to post more on the social medias. Daniel will help me revise and touch up our final film. We are very close to being don

Production Blog: Getting consent

Image
Before we could publish our film we had to make sure that we had everyones consent to post it. We also had to make sure it was okay with the places we filmed at. The store we filmed  at was a corner store by Evas house. So we asked for their permission to film and they said yes. It was easy to get their approval because Eva used to work there. We had them give us their signature. Throughout our film, we had to be careful getting random people in our film. We had to reshoot the scenes when people would get in it that we don't have the approval. For the party scene we have to get people to be it. About 10 people was the planned amount. We got their permission to film them. We used our friends for this so it was easy to convince them. We also made sure it was okay with the people in Evas apartment because we filmed the party scene there. Other permissions we had to get were for the music. We had to make sure it was okay with the company to use their music. Overall, this was a easy

Production Blog: Postcard

Image
Hi again, this step in our process of this project was pretty  easy. We needed to make an advertising post card of our film.  This post card had a front and back. We needed to make it  look appealing so people would want to come watch our film I did this by adding a dark and mysterious pictures. I used a  red font on the front of the post card. I also used the words  "Coming soon" under the title to show that the film hasn't  been out yet but its going to be. On the back of the post card  put more information. I put the showtime dates and what time  its airing. I chose three dates. I also provided the social  media platform names. For YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and  Facebook I used the same username. The username for each  of these social medias were called  @Officalconviencestoremovie. This was easier because I  could just copy and paste it. It was also easier for my group  and I to remember when doing the social medias. I also  added social media stickers to each

Production Blog: Editing

Image
After finishing up with the filming process, we moved on to editing. Since we recorded on one device, we decided to share the videos with one another. This is because we wanted to each be able to individually go through the videos, as well as together. We thought about sending the messages through text or email, however there were too many to do so. The easiest option would be to create an iCloud photo album or store it in Google Drive. We decided to use iCloud because we would be editing on iMovie. At first the album wasn't working because of the quantity of videos, however after adjusting settings on our devices, we managed to share the videos between the three of us. Each of us individually went through the videos to make sure we had all of the footage. We also made sure to go through them to avoid mistakes that wouldn't be seen until we began filming. We wanted to keep our filming days to a minimum to avoid too much contact during the current pandemic. Thankfully, we wer

Production Blog: Editing

My group decided that it was time to begin editing. In the previous blog, we imported our videos into iMovie. We still are missing one scene. The scene where the store worker is watching the news. We plan to film this scene tomorrow. We then organized them in chronological order. Instead of keeping them in the small import section, we dragged them to where the clips are merged. At the end of this process, we had all of our uncut clips lined up next to one another. We watched through it once before continuing. When we were sure that the shots were in place, we each went through and cropped each video to make sure that the movie wouldn't be choppy. We took turns actually editing, but all pitched in. For example, while Eva was editing, Paige and I were making sure we followed what was written down in the storyboard. Our job was to communicate as a team to complete this together. After Eva, I edited. My main goal for this part was to try and make the shots have smoother transitions.
